We are building new 64bit servers with larger storage arrays.  We are in testing phases now and expect to roll out by the end of the month.

Grrr... Other issues... we are still working on it.  We are aware of slowness issues, but have not as yet identified the problem.  We are working on it...

As those of you know who have been here in the past, we have been plagued by slowness since day one.  It has been our number one nemesis.

A few days ago we found one line of code that when stuctured differently mtook 10 seconds off of page load times.  YAY!! We found it!!!  This plus extensive testing with PHP op-code pre-compilers and caching has resulted in page load time between 1 and 3 seconds.

Although we cannow focus on content and features once again, we are continuing to watch these servers closely and have more instore to improve scalabilty of the site.

Because of the nature of caching, the more traffic we receive, the better the site should perform to a certain extent.  So, if you have not signed up because the site was too slow in the past, please do so now.  Add you comments to other peoples articles and blogs, plus write your own.

We recently added a friend list and an affinity matching tool.  As you vote on articles you like, you will be matched with others who also voted on the same articles.  Over time this can help you find other members that you hold similar ideas with.  You can them add them to your friend list for more direct communication.

Please let us know what you think of the new features.  If they are not something our community wants we will remove those features. If the community would like to see more of those type of features, we need to know that too.

And, as always, if there is a feature that we have not considered that you would like to see, please let us know.
